What is one thing that separates us from the animals? Well, it is our higher intellect. And, one way for us to be truly happy is that if we set some goals for ourselves and we do our best to fulfill them.

Oftentimes, I hear people complaining about the lack of motivation and it can always be attributed to the fact that they really did not set tangible goals for themselves.

So for starters, I want you to get a piece of paper or a digital notepad and list down all of the things that you want to achieve in life.

Make sure that they are achievable given your circumstances and it also has to be realistic as well.

2.Build Your Social Network

Meeting and talking to other people can actually be quite good for our overall well being. That is why it is important for you to build your own social network. And no, I do not mean to say that you create a new platform like Facebook or Instagram; what I am saying is that you start creating new relationships with other people.

So for instance, if you were painfully shy before, start going out there and meeting new people. I promise you, when you meet good friends that will help you grow as a person, you will know that you’re living your life to the fullest.

3.Have a Contingency Plan

Even the most carefully laid out plans can fail, which is why I advocate that you create a contingency plan. This plan should be centered around some problem areas and things that you can do to help fix the situation if it goes south.

4.Have a Healthy Level of Optimism

Optimism has many definitions, but I would like to define it as viewing the more positive things in life as opposed to the things that could go wrong.

What I mean by healthy optimism is that you should remain optimistic, but a good level of pessimism can be helpful at times, especially when we’re talking about our survival.

5.Learn to Adjust

Life just doesn’t work the way we want it to sometimes. Therefore, it is important that you learn to adjust, especially if things do not go your way.

6.Be a Source of Inspiration

Since you have already lived at least 50 years in this world, you might have picked up a few good lessons that you can impart to the next generation. Go out there and do some seminars and give them some good pieces of information.
